Last night saw the premiere episode of Lost. I thought I would give it a whirl since J.J. Abrams created it, and I like the other two shows he has created (Alias and Felicity). Well, let's just say I enjoyed it. The first ten to fifteen minutes of the episode, which deal with the immediate aftermath of the plane crash, were some of the most intense I have ever seen on television (24 eat your heart out). Once things settled down a little the show took a different turn than I thought it would. There is something mysterious about the beach they have landed on. Though what that mysterious factor is hasn't been revealed yet, I do have a theory. I am very curious to see what develops. One way or the other I am hooked for the season!

Oh, and surprise, surprise, Greg Grunberg, who played Sean on Felicity and is Agent Eric Weiss on Alias, made a cameo in last night's premiere. According to IMDB.com he has knows J.J. Abrams since kindergarten. I guess it helps to have friends in high places!

CNN has reported that George Lucas has indeed made some more modifications to the DVD editions of the Star Wars trilogy being released tomorrow. What's next...American Graffiti: the director's cut? Click here to read an article discussing some of the main changes, and here to read an interview with Mr. "I Can't Leave Well-Enough Alone."

It's a sad world: Simon Cowell is being sued, and Britney Spears is releasing a greatest hits album. *Sigh*

For those of you who were not aware, George Lucas had originally planned for at least 9 Star Wars films. However, in recent years he has changed his tune saying that the Star Wars saga is only six parts, revolving around Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, and it will be obvious when you watch all 6 parts together that the series if over. Yet, just recently Industrial Light and Magic (Lucas's SFX company) employees were required to sign non-disclosure agreements concerning Star Wars Episodes 7,8, and 9. If Lucas is not making those movies then why is he forcing his employees to sign non-disclosures? Only adding fuel to this fire is Mark Hammill's recent interview where he discussed Lucas's early dreams for the series. (Click over to Comingsoon.net to listen to the interview.) So either the fans are getting a little too proactive in their wishful thinking, or George Lucas really thinks he has more story to tell after all (yeah right, he wants to make more money!).

On a somewhat related note, I am planning on seeing the re-release of George Lucas's first movie, THX 1138, this weekend. Well, it's only SORT OF his first movie. Just like with Star Wars he can't leave well enough alone, and has created a director's cut of the film. It has a limited theatrical release starting today, and will be released nationwide on DVD starting Tuesday. This cut is apparently quite different from the original, earning an R rating, whereas the original was PG. Since I have never seen the original cut, I will be experiencing it for the first time. Hopefully Jar Jar Binks hasn't been digitally inserted into any scenes.

The cost of legal music downloads getting you down? Tired of paying $.99 a song on iTunes or $9.95 a month for Napster? Then check out this website. Most tracks are $.05 each, with just a few costing you a dime! Though I have not personally used it (I still prefer to pay an arm and a leg to physically posses the CD), a friend of mine has spent $25 and downloaded about 35 albums worth of music. And the best part is you don't have to give them your credit card, because you can pay with Paypal!

Those of you who know that I am a Mac fan may be wondering why I would advertise for their competition. Well, Steve Jobs and company get very little, if any, profit from the iTunes store. Plus, you still need something to play all those mp3s on...why not go with the iPod?

Oooohh! The new iMacs have been unvailed! As with previous versions, this new iMac looks like no other computer around. Though they are only 2 inches thick (1.99-2.2 inches, depending on which model you get) they run on Apple's 64 bit processor, the G5. This can mean only one thing: laptops featuring the G5 are just around the corner! New Powerbook here I come!
From Jesus to Superman...rumor has it that Jim Caviezel will play the Kryptonian in the upcoming Brian Singer flick. Read more here.
Yes, yes...I know I have been fairly absent on the blog-front. Between going on vacation and heading back to school things have been pretty busy for me lately. Sorry!
